- Summary:
- We do not attempt to identify visitors to this site. Data which is collected is only used for server administration and site development. No identifying data is disclosed to any third party for any purpose.
Data Collection
- As is typical, we log HTTP requests to our site, which means that we keep basic information about the visit - e.g. the Browser being used, the time the visitor arrived, the site the visitor came from and the pages the visitor viewed. We do not log the 'real' identity of visitors.
- The reason for this is to enable an analysis to be made from time to time to see which parts of the site might benefit best from future development. It also allows us to tailor the site to work with the Web Browsers being most used.
- We keep a record when visitors send a message using the site's email service, to which officer it was sent and part of the email header and some server details - we do not keep any record of the message itself.
- The reason for this is to enable a check to be made for any attempt to hijack the service by malicious users.
- Users of the message boar leave their name and email address. We do not use or analyze this information in any way.
- The reason for requiring this data is so that users of the message board can be contacted.
- We log requests to our search engine i.e. the search terms requested and the date the search was made.
- This data is only used for site administration and development.

- Our logging is passive; we do not attempt to maintain any information on users.
- Logged information is kept indefinitely as administrative and research material.
